Alternative routes to Stöten

During certain weeks, the traffic situation around Sälen and Mora is significantly affected by the Vasaloppet and school holiday traffic. Therefore, we recommend some alternative routes to and from Stöten and Sälen.

Our recommendations

• Traffic to and from Sälenfjällen is directed via Lima (county road 1049) and Rörbäcksnäs (county road 1047).
• Alternative route from Sälenfjällen choose county road 1051 towards Transtrand. Then national road 66 via Malung-Ludvika-Västerås. Traffic to southern Sweden takes national road 66 via Malung then E45 towards Gothenburg.
• Motorists travelling to Sälen from Mälardalen will take the Djurås E16 towards Malung and then the national road 66 towards Sälen.
