Älvan

Don't miss Sweden's best piste
The river has been named Sweden's fifth best downhill run by the magazine Åka Skidor and several times to Sweden's best piste by the readers of ski media Freeride - and it's not hard to see why.

Sälenfjällen's highest vertical metres
The piste, which has Sälenfjället's highest vertical drop of 398 metres, is both long and steep with varying terrain. The descent, which is just over 1.5 kilometres long, challenges the most ardent ski enthusiast and promises to give your legs a good dose of lactic acid if you ski it in one go.
Qualified for giant slalom
The descent is not only long, varied and offers magnificent views of the Swedish and Norwegian mountains. Älvan is actually also qualified for FIS GS, that is, giant slalom, which this slope is alone in these latitudes.
With its generous width and black slope, Älvan has also served as a base for both the World Championships in Giant Slalom and the World Championships in Telemark over the years.
Find here
You can reach Älvan either from the top of the WC Express at Stötentorget or via the drag lifts that start from the bottom of Älvan at Skidtorget.
The moose is on the far right side of the mountain seen from below and has of course number 11 on piste map!

Älvan's Pizzeria
At the bottom of the river, at Skidtorget, you will find one of our most popular restaurants - Älvans Pizzeria. Here, we serve freshly baked pizzas and tasty snacks to hungry skiers between runs.
