Skiing rules

When purchasing a SkiPass, all of Stöten i Sälen's and SLAO's skiing and lift rules and general conditions are accepted when using the facility. Both the facility and the guest are responsible for ensuring that downhill skiing is a safe and fun product for everyone.
The SLAO's little yellow booklet contains the downhill skier's traffic rules and general regulations, i.e. everything you need to know about ski touring and downhill skiing. Here you can read the SLAO's little yellow for general rules on the slopes.

In Stöten's downhill slopes, the following equipment is authorised:
- Downhill skis with ski stop or catch strap.
- Snowboarding.
- Snowskate with catch strap.
In the Stöten slopes the following is not allowed:
- Equipment such as cross-country skis, touring skis, snowbikes, snowscooters or snowbones are not allowed on the slopes.
- It is absolutely forbidden travelling with a child in a baby carrier/carrier chair in lifts and ramps.
- It is absolutely forbidden sledging or similar within the ski area, either day or night.
- Private snowmobiling is not authorised within the establishment.
- It is absolutely forbidden going uphill on marked slopes at all times of the day. The ban applies to skiers, cross-country skiers and walkers.
- It is not allowed to have children on your lap in the chairlift.
Want to see what it looks like at the top in good weather?
If you don't ski but want to get to the top as a pedestrian in good weather, you are welcome to ride the lift up without skis even if the cross-country tracks are not open.
We do not let "tourers" or cross-country skiers up if the cross-country tracks at the top are not open.
Contact lift attendants when you want to take the lift up but also when you want to go back down.

If the skier breaks the rules, Stöten has the right to block the SkiPass.
- Pay attention - show consideration. Behave in a way that does not put anyone else at risk.
- Customise the speed and riding style to the terrain, equipment, weather conditions and your own riding skills.
- Select the direction of travel. If you are coming from the top, you must keep out of the way of riders in front of you.
- Start carefully! Check - up and down - that the slope is clear before you start travelling.
- Just stay where you are visible. If you have to stop - do so where you are clearly visible and where others can overtake you. If you are overtaken - clear the slip road as quickly as possible.
- Overtake by a margin. Keep a sufficient distance to give the overtaken rider enough space.
- Climb up the side of the slope. Always climb up the side of the slope. This is particularly important in poor visibility.
- Respect the signs. Rules and instructions on the slopes are there for your well-being and the safety of others. Please follow them!
- Give us a hand. You must help in the event of an accident. If you are involved in an accident, you must give your name and address.
- Report to the staff. If you notice any obstruction, danger or accident on the lifts or slopes, please inform the staff on site.
