Five tips for a successful family holiday

Spending time with your family in the mountains is one of the best things you can do, whatever the season. Being able to spend time with loved ones in the mountains does wonders for your mood - but it can also be stressful if the conditions aren't right. Here we share our top five tips to help you have the best possible mountain holiday with your family.

Tip #1 Plan well in advance

Planning is essential for a really successful ski holiday. Make sure you book at least some of your accommodation well in advance so you get the chalet you want. Think about what is important to you during your holiday and look for the best accommodation to suit your needs. Are you travelling over a holiday or a festival? Then it is particularly important to plan and book early to ensure that accommodation does not run out.

Tip #2 Pre-book for smoother arrival

When you arrive after a long car journey, it's nice to be able to just pick up your lift pass and ski equipment without any hassle. Your SkiPass you can easily pick up your SkiPass from one of our SkiPass machines located around the resort and the pre-booked the ski equipment are ready for collection at your convenience. Avoid sweaty trying on ski boots in crowds and test at home in peace and quiet. If there is something that does not fit, just change!

Tip #3 Let the children go to ski school

As well as being a fun experience for children, ski school gives them a good foundation for their future ski career. Most children learn more easily with an outside ski instructor than if a parent were to teach them. This means that the learning process is both faster and easier if children attend ski school. But of course, ski school is not just for children - even you as an adult and experienced skier can benefit greatly from taking a ski lesson! Our ski instructors are professionals and can quickly identify what you can improve in your skiing.

Tip #4 Holiday with another family

One way to save time and money - and have a more enjoyable holiday - is to travel with another family. As well as having a memorable holiday together, you can also save money on accommodation. Plus, you can take turns looking after the kids on the children's slopes while the other adults enjoy the bigger slopes. There are many reasons why family friends choose to return to Stöten year after year together.
