Tips on 5 tasty snacks for the slopes

To last a whole day on the slopes, it's important to top up your energy reserves. So we thought we'd share a handful of tasty snacks that are great for long days on the slopes!

Tasty snacks to take with you on the slopes

Skiing takes its toll on your energy. To keep your energy up and your spirits high, it can be a good idea to enjoy a snack on the slopes. Below are five practical and tasty snack suggestions that are sure to please both parents and children:

1. fruit

Fruit is something that goes down well with most people. However, it is not only very tasty, but also filled with a lot of nutrients. Another big advantage is that fruit is easy to take with you on the ski slopes, while most fruits are not particularly fragile.

To make things even easier, you can slice the fruit into small wedges and put them in a bag or pack that fits in your rucksack!

2. smoothies

Another nutritious favourite that includes fruit is smoothies. Blend together your children's favourite fruits, some yoghurt and add other tasty ingredients if you like. Then pour the mixture into a thermos for easy access on the ski slopes.

3. Nuts

Fruits can be both sweet and sour. That's why it's a good idea to complement your fruit or smoothie time with some savoury and protein-rich nuts. Tasty and healthy!

4. Thin bread rolls

Just like the above suggestions, sandwiches are usually a winning concept on the ski slopes. Soft flatbread rolls are both tasty and practical to have with you. Fill the rolls, for example, with soft cheese and ham (or some other toppings), roll them up and pack them in a bag or plastic box.

5. Energy balls or cookies

Last but not least, we would like to recommend making your own energy balls/cookies. Something that can also be a fun family activity before you put on your ski equipment and head out on the slopes!

Making your own energy balls or cookies is very easy. All you need to do is to boil butter, cream, syrup and sugar until it's a smooth batter. Then just add nuts, dried fruits, puffed rice or similar.

After mixing everything into the batter, you can either shape it into small round balls or spread it out on greaseproof paper. Leave to cool in the fridge. If you choose the latter option, finish by cutting the cookies into the desired size.
