Energy savings tips
With the rise in electricity prices, there is a great deal of concern in society - not least among our private holiday home owners who have chosen to sell their holiday homes through Stöten. Here we at Stöten have gathered our best tips on how you as a guest can think to keep electricity consumption down as much as possible during your stay with us.
- Switch off the sauna immediately. Switch off the sauna manually as soon as you're done, instead of letting the timer run out, and you'll save a lot of energy.
- Use the dishwasher. Washing dishes in the machine saves almost four times as much energy as washing them by hand. But make sure the machine is completely full before you start it. You can also skip the pre-wash, the machine does that so well on its own!
Plocka ut innerskon ur pjäxan så torkar den över natten utan problem!
- Only wash full washing machines. Fill the machine properly before starting it and use the eco programme.
- Avoid using tumble dryers and drying cabinets if it is possible. The tumble dryer uses almost three times as much energy as the washing machine - the most environmentally friendly option is to let the laundry air dry. Tips for damp boots! Take the inner boot out of the boot and it will dry overnight without any problems.
- Switch off lights in rooms that no one is in. There is a lot of energy to be saved here just by switching off lights that do not need to be on.
- Unplug chargers that are not in use. When a charger is not in use but plugged into an outlet, it still consumes energy. In fact, appliances in standby mode consume the equivalent of 2 per cent of the country's annual energy consumption.
- Switch off the coffee maker when not in use. A good tip to save energy and keep your coffee hot at the same time is to pour it directly into a thermos as soon as it is ready.
- Take a shorter shower. Halving the shower time also halves the energy consumption.
- Använd braskaminen. Om ditt boende har braskamin, använd gärna den för att värma upp huset. Det är både energieffektivt och väldigt mysigt!
Did you know that...
… i Malung-Sälens kommun är elen som dyrast mellan klockan 07:00 och 19:00? Så om du har möjlighet, undvik gärna att använda energitjuvar såsom bastu och tvättmaskin inom den tidsramen.
